EuroHockey Club
Champions Trophy, Wettingen Switzerland, 29 May-1 Jun 2009
Milne Craig
Western narrowly missed out on promotion back to the top level in Europe
losing on flicks in the final match. The team had fought back from 0-2
down in the final minutes with Morag McLellan scoring 2 excellent goals.
Sadly oppoents Siauliai Gintra Universitetas from Lithuania provide too
strong in the penalty flick contest winning 6-5. This was however a
fantastic performance from one of the youngest squads ever to represent
Western and Scotland in Europe.
